This article will guide you through how to set up your EdTech Impact profile for the first time, how to add imagery and supporting documents, and how to add tags and ensure you select the right category.

To begin, login to your dashboard and select Profile from the left-hand navigation menu

This section will expand and you'll be presented with 4 sub-sections called:

  1. Information
  2. Impact Metrics
  3. Evidence Base
  4. Exposure.

1. Information

To get started, select Information from the menu and a new page will display with a long list of data fields that you can fill in. This section is the foundation of your profile and allows you to add all the relevant information for your product. Your goal is to present your product as best as you can and this means filling out as much of this section as possible.

As you scroll down this page, you'll see sections to upload your logo and screenshots, add product descriptions, and select from preset fields such as age group.

Writing a good product description: Your profile provides you with the ability to begin evidencing the quality of your solution, so avoid using terminology such as 'unique' or 'innovative' when you come to describe your product. These are subjective terms and tell educators little about what your solution is and can do.

Fill out as much of the information section as you can. The more you can make available, the more comprehensive your public profile will be for prospective customers. You don't need to complete the profile in one sitting (do remember to save each time before exiting the page) and you can revise it as many times as you like. Profile revisions go live within 24 hours of editing.

Listings the features of your product

The Features section enables you to add up to 20 'tags' to your profile to showcase what your product can do and improve discoverability on EdTech Impact. To add a feature, type in the box and hit Enter on your keyboard once you are happy. Repeat this process for every additional feature you wish to list.

Sharing your policies

Schools and Multi-Academy Trusts are increasingly vetting prospective EdTech solutions prior to engaging with them. The Policies & Compliance section enables you to provide a public link to your Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, and GDPR Policy.

2. Impact Metrics

Designed in partnership with University College London, our Impact Metrics sit at the heart of your reviews, providing a unique feedback loop to support your product development and showcase your effectiveness.

When users come to review your product, they'll be asked to what extent your product has impacted the chosen outcome you have selected. If you select that you "Build Student Knowledge," reviewers will agree or disagree with that statement on a Likert scale. The responses are converted to a percentage and published to your profile as displayed below

We recommend you choose 3-5 outcomes that you believe are positively impacted when your product is used by students, teachers, administrators or parents.

Think carefully about your outcomes. Once selected, your Impact Metrics will be immediately added to your customer survey, and will be published to your profile for everyone to see

3. Evidence Base

Your EdTech Impact profile provides you with an independent evidence base to leverage across your sales and marketing activities but we also recognise you may have existing sales assets or evidence you would like to show off. The Evidence Base section allows you to add existing Testimonials, Case Studies, Impact Reports and Independent Evaluations to your profile.

All evidence can be publicly viewed within your "Evidence" tab, and will be promoted within site-wide search results.

4. Exposure

This section aids in the discoverability of your solution once published to EdTech Impact.

The first section asks you to select all the regions that you sell into and can support for your product. EdTech Impact is an international marketplace so to improve your chances of reaching educators in other countries you wish to expand into, make sure you select the relevant regions.

Improving how often you're found

Sometimes potential customers can make a spelling or grammatical error when searching for your product, or you may have undergone a recent rebrand. Using the Alternate Product Names section, you can list multiple names by which your product might be known. For our fictional company Acme Corp, we may want to add alternatives such as AcmeCorp, Acme, and Stupendous Student Solutions as in the example below.

Tags enable you to enter up to 20 keywords that may be associated with your solution and aid in discoverability of your solution. Think of this like SEO on EdTech Impact. There are 3 types of tags you will want to think about:
  1. Pain Point: Think about the pain point that a prospective school is trying to solve. If educators are looking to support revisions and exam practice, you may want to tag your product with "test revision" and "exam practice."
  2. School Phase: Educators often search with a broad search based on their school type or phase. While this information is captured in the 'Age Range' section, it doesn't hurt to add it as a tag as well.
  3. Topic Level: "Literacy" is a good example of how to tag for a topic as otherwise this would be categorised as an English solution in the Lessons & Resources category.

Community Guidelines: It is against our community guidelines to list any competitor product names in any of the tagging or alternate names sections on your profile. Companies who do not follow the guidelines risk being removed from the platform.

Primary Category & Content Set

At this time, products can only be listed in one category. Our categorisation system is built on the core functionality of what a product delivers and the test for this is it must perform that functionality as a standalone feature.

A good example of this is 'Assessment,' as many classroom focused EdTech products offer functionality around assessment. Using our fictional company, Acme Corp provides learning materials to support exam revision so we have listed in the Lessons & Resources category. However, the platform provides students with the ability to take review quizzes on the learning materials we provide.

In this instance, our assessment functionality would be classed as a feature as it cannot be used as a standalone assessment platform. To ensure we can still showcase this functionality, we can add 'Assessments' to the Feature Set section and as a tag in the Exposure section.

If you develop and provide learning resources or lesson content, select the relevant options in the Curriculum Content section.

Publishing your Profile

At the bottom of each section, you will find a 'Save and Publish' button.

Please ensure you save your work before switching section otherwise you will lose your work.

Your profile is not published to the public listings until you have selected the category you wish to list in which is in the final section of the 'Profile' section

Congratulations, you now know everything you need to in order to create a comprehensive profile and showcase your solution to thousands of prospective educators.
